New Florida Vaccine Law Would Require Doctors To “Prove It’s Safe” By Injecting Themselves First

Florida lawmakers introduced proposed legislation this week that would require any doctor or medical staff member administering a vaccine to first inject themselves with the same shot, a measure sponsors described as “fair,” “reassuring,” and “something doctors shouldn’t complain about if they really believe in it.”

Under the proposal, medical staff would be required to demonstrate confidence in vaccines by injecting themselves either in the arm, the butt, or “wherever makes the point clearest,” including the neck, immediately before treating patients.

Doctors across the state say the requirement has quickly become routine.

“I’ve injected myself 19 times today,” said one physician, adjusting his collar. “At some point you stop asking questions and just pick a spot.”

Hospitals confirmed that some doctors administering high volumes of vaccines have resorted to rotating injection locations to keep pace.

Medical staff also reported an unforeseen consequence of the policy: a near-total disappearance of the small lollipops traditionally given to children after receiving shots.

“They’re gone,” said a pediatric nurse. “All of them.”

Hospital officials confirmed the lollipops have been quietly appropriated by doctors and nurses, many of whom now keep several on hand as a coping mechanism.

“After your eighth neck shot of the morning, you feel like you’ve earned a cherry,” said one doctor, woozily swaying on his feet while unwrapping his candy.

Some parents expressed concern that their child may be scarred for life, not from a vaccine, but from watching a doctor jab himself right in the neck with the stuff and taking all the candies.
