ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man identified by friends as a “renowned St. Pete DJ” was hospitalized Tuesday after a minor car accident on 4th Street North, though multiple witnesses at the scene quickly clarified to reporters that they had never heard of him and “he’s honestly not that well known.”

The victim, 32-year-old Daniel “DJ SolarPulse” Ramirez, was reportedly rear-ended at a red light while driving to what his friend described as “a really important gig at a brewery that only books serious artists.” Paramedics confirmed he suffered only minor injuries, but several bystanders took it upon themselves to correct early reports referring to him as a local celebrity.

“I mean, he might be renowned in, like, his friend group,” said witness Courtney Evans, folding her arms while watching first responders load Ramirez into an ambulance. “But I’ve lived here my whole life. If he was famous, he’d at least have performed at the Pier, or at First Friday, or Jannus."

Another witness, Mitchell Harding, said he overheard Ramirez telling EMTs he “spins every weekend,” before adding, “I go out every weekend. I’ve never seen him. Not once.”

Friends of Ramirez insist he is a “major figure in the St. Pete electronic community,” citing his 2021 opening slot at a taco restaurant, his self-published Spotify playlist with 46 followers, and a “wild night” when someone recognized him in the Publix deli line but later turned out to have mistaken him for their cousin.

Reporters later confirmed that Ramirez’s Instagram bio includes the phrase “International DJ,” though all listed cities were within Pinellas County.

Hospital staff say he is expected to make a full recovery, though a nurse admitted she Googled his DJ name and received “no results except a SoundCloud link that didn’t load.”
