City of St. Pete officials confirmed Monday that another St. Patrick’s Day weekend in downtown St. Pete was successfully observed: the Tampa channel turned green and everyone’s mind went black.
Widespread memory loss, unexplained injuries, and a lingering sense that “a time was had” all point toward another successful celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, a city spokesman said Wednesday.
By Sunday morning, residents across the city began reporting missing personal items, fractured timelines, and a vague but unanimous understanding that whatever occurred was either epic or deeply shameful, and likely unrecoverable.
“I can’t remember if I really climbed that lamppost or if that was just something someone told me,” said one man, staring at his phone, which he later confirmed was not his.
Similar accounts emerged across downtown.
Emergency responders reported a noticeable increase in what they described as “non-specific injuries,” including bruises, scrapes, and what one official referred to simply as “elbow situations.”
“Somewhere between the 400 Block and Beach Drive, I got a giant bruise on my elbow,” said one woman, declining to elaborate. “I don’t remember falling. I don’t remember not falling. It just… appeared.”
City sanitation crews, meanwhile, began the annual process of assessing what remains after bathrooms and port-a-potties are inevitably overwhelmed (as they are every year).
Preliminary findings included green-stained sidewalks, abandoned novelty hats, and microscopic traces of what experts confirmed to be “stomach matter,” suggesting a peak event occurred at some point late Saturday.
“All indicators point to a strong night,” said one worker, surveying the scene. “We just can’t tell you what the night was.”
At press time, analysts reported the weekend had significantly impacted key sectors of the economy, with Chipotle, Postmates, and Gatorade stocks all surging sharply by market close, signaling what experts described as “robust recovery behavior.”
